We work with peptides and other biological derived oligomers to transfer supramolecular chemistry from organic solvents to water; and so to biology. We look to create defined three dimensional and functional architectures, able to catalyse reactions, trap guests, or otherwise affect biological systems. We make extensive use of interlocked architectures (rotaxanes, catenanes) and metal-organic cages (‘molecular teabags’), and look to find new ways to apply the unique properties of peptides in this artificial three dimensional arrangement.
